Sabrina Marie (Basden) McCarty, 66, of Wadesville, IN, passed away January 2, 2025 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN. She was born April 14, 1958 in Alton, IL to Abie and Ruth (Landreth) Basden.
Sabrina graduated in 1976 from Granite City High School. She was a member of Mt. Zion General Baptist Church for over 20 years where she was a worship leader. Sabrina worked at South Terrace Elementary School for the past 10 years as a teacher's aide. She was also a homemaker and housewife.
She was preceded in death by her father; husband of 36 years, Mike McCarty; and daughter, Emily McCarty.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth; son, Lucas McCarty (Cailee); daughters, Sarah Branson, Amy McCarty, Anna McCarty and Rebekah Hirano (Kousuke); step-sons, Tim and Tom McCarty; grandchildren, Savanah and Annabell Branson and one on the way, Kaoru Hirano; brothers, Edgar Basden (Melissa) and Mike Basden (Jennifer); and sister, Terri Basden.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Mt. Zion General Baptist Church, 1425 Oliver Rd., Wadesville, IN with Rev. Mike Trotter officiating and burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon service time on Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
