Obituary of Sadie Ardolino

Sadie Ardolino (née Bocchino), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, at the age of 97.

Born in Morristown on February 6, 1928, to the late Joseph Bocchino and Antoinette Sena, Sadie was raised in Madison alongside her siblings. It was in Madison where she and her future husband, Salvatore Ardolino, Jr., grew up together and later married on January 26, 1950. Together, they built a beautiful life and family rooted in love, tradition, and devotion.

A homemaker at heart, Sadie raised her family on a farm, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with love, delicious meals, and strong values. She was an excellent cook and loved gathering family and friends around the table. Social by nature, Sadie had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and cherished.

Once her children were grown, Sadie worked at the customer service desk at ShopRite for over 25 years. She was well-known, well-liked, and touched the lives of countless people in her community with her easy-going nature and friendly smile. Sadie was also a dedicated, lifelong NY Yankees fan.

In retirement, Sadie and Salvatore enjoyed traveling together. They spent time at their condo in Naples, Florida, and explored many parts of the United States, including California and Tennessee.

Above all, Sadie was devoted to her family. She took immense joy in hearing about the accomplishments of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always encouraging them with pride and love. She embodied the spirit of an old-fashioned Italian woman, rooted in tradition, kindness, and generosity.

Sadie is survived by her husband of 75 years, Salvatore Ardolino, Jr.; her beloved children, Sally McGuire, Connie Tobia, Linda Owens, Salvatore Ardolino, III and his wife, Patricia, Joseph Ardolino and his wife, Nancy, and Robert Ardolino and his wife, Jayne; 15 cherished grandchildren; 15 treasured great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Antoinette; her siblings, Joe, Mary, May, Rosie, and Dominick; one grandson, Terry McGuire III in 2021; and her sons-in-law, Terry McGuire, Ron Tobia, and Vincent Owens.

Sadie will be remembered as a loving, humble, and generous woman who lived her life in devotion to her family and community. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitation for Sadie to be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison.

Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 1 Lloyd Avenue, Florham Park.

Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
