Sadie Rome Carey

Sadie Rome Carey, a loving wife, mother, and grandma passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at the age of 76. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd Robert Carey, Sr. Loving mother of Dawn C. St. Lucia (Stephen) and Lloyd R. Carey, Jr. (Amy). Grandmother of Cy St. Lucia, Dylan Carey, Dalton Carey and Aly Carey. Daughter of the late Francis Levet Rome and Audry J. Rome, Sr. Sister of Carol Ann Rome, Margaret Rome Bedard (Hector), William Rome (the late Nancy), Fernand Rome "T-Nook", Gayle "Bozo" Rome (Mary Ann) and the late Lillie DiLeo, Audry Rome, Jr. Joyce Rome, and sister-n-law Wanda Carey (the late Joseph). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Sadie was a native of Romeville and a resident of Kenner for over 50 years. She found her greatest joy in her family, especially her grandchildren, who always brought a smile to her face. Sadie was a gifted cook, known for the delicious, heartfelt meals she lovingly prepared. When not in the kitchen, she found peace and happiness tending to her yard. Sadie had a heart of gold and was always willing to help others. She was strong in her faith and attended weekly mass at St. Jerome. Her strong faith and love for life, gave her strength to fight until the very end. She will be dearly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Mass. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 at L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 2402 33rd St., Kenner at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Lake Lawn Park Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
