Sally Dykstra Barton, aged 87, passed away on November 14, 2024, in Valencia, CA.

Born on March 25, 1937, Sally dedicated much of her life to the field of education, serving as a Teaching Assistant within the Newhall and Wm. S. Sally graduated from Victor Valley High School and furthered her education at Mt. San Antonio College, which laid the foundation for her lifelong commitment to education and personal growth. Known for her considerate and thoughtful nature, she was well-loved by all who knew her. An avid reader and camper, Sally enjoyed RV'ing across the United States and Canada, crafting, and spending quality time with her family and many friends. These activities reflected her love for adventure and her creative spirit. Sally is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert D. Barton; daughters, Susanne Barton and Tina Barton-Torp (Joseph Torp); granddaughters, Faith Torp, Jolyn Torp, Brothers John (Bobbi) Dykstra and Charles (Judy) Dykstra and their families. Sally was preceded in death by her parents Nick & Ann Dykstra and great granddaughter Tinnley Harmon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Vietnam Veterans of America and the Make-A-Wish Foundation in memory of Sally.

Her legacy of kindness, passion for education, and love for her family will forever be cherished and remembered by those who were fortunate to know her.

I loved my Aunt Sally. She was full of kindness and joy. Loved her Christmas newsletter every year to catch up on the family. Sally always told me wonderful stories of my/our heritage. I will miss her so much. I was so glad when Bob and Sally were able to come up to Western NY in their RV and visit. That will always be a special memory.

You will be missed and always be thought of with that wonderful smile and laugh.

I met Sally in the 5th grade when her family came from Holland. She spoke no English but quickly learned our language. We were in 4-H together, attending camp, and doing demonstrations. After high school we roomed two years while in college. She married a friend of ours and we always said it was a marriage "made in heaven" as they enjoyed the same activities and each other. Over the years we camped together. A special cherished memory is visiting and seeing how she decorated for each season. Camping and water activities wonderful. I could write a book of the times we enjoyed being together with Sally and her family.

I´m so sorry to hear about Sally. I did not know she was sick. My condolences to Bob and family. We had some good times camping and also our visits to Los Vaqueros. Will miss her. Linda Gordon
