Sally Boord, 86, of Farmington, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025 at the Taylor Healthcare Center in Grafton surrounded by the love of her family. Born on July 15, 1939 in Farmington, Sally lived a life devoted to her loved ones. She spent many of her years as a bank teller having retired from B B & T. Outside of work Sally found joy in the kitchen, especially hosting Sunday family dinners. Throughout her life Sally lovingly cared for family members, embodying the true meaning of selflessness.
Sally will be deeply missed by her great nephew, whom she raised, Jeremy (Debbie) Boord of Idamay; her sisters: Joann Layne, Jean Cosco, and Dorothy "Lucille" Broadwater all of Farmington, and Shirley (Bill) Conrad of Mogadore, Ohio; a special nephew: Larry Gene (Dawn) Broadwater of Barrackville along with many loved nieces and nephews.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Edith Woodring Boord; her siblings: Mark "Babe" Boord and wife Dee, Marvin "Bill" Boord wife Sandra, Herbert Boord and wife Betty, Eleanor "Susie" Wright and husband Teddy, and Laura May Cochran; brothers-in-law: Robert Layne and Donald Cosco.
Friends may be received at the Hutson Funeral Home, 3171 Husky Highway on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. with Evangelist Craig Matheny officiating. Pallbearers include Danny Perkins, Damion Clevenger, Colton Boord, Larry Gene Broadwater, Brian Boord, and Bobby Layne. Interment will follow at the IOOF Cemetery in Farmington. The family invites friends and family to join in remembering her and would also like to express their gratitude to the staff of Taylor Healthcare Center who became her family over the past 5 years.
