Sally Henderson Hall was the third child born to Ruby Hess Henderson and Howard Donald Henderson on May 9, 1942 in Los Angeles, during the height of WWII. Like many middle children, she was a peacemaker and a unifier. Sally is survived by her sister LeeAnn Henderson Thomas and her brothers Clayburn, James, Donald, and Gary Henderson as well as Sally’s many direct descendants.

Sally always valued education.  Although her early years of schooling were complicated by poor eyesight, she became successful by working diligently on her homework. Once Sally obtained glasses, she stated the clarity she finally received was so profound, it brought tears to her eyes. Sally brought this “clarity” with her, helping others to see through a lens of compassion and love. She consistently maintained this perspective as she faced many challenges in her life. She got married at the young age of 17 to Tommy Wayne Rentz, raised children as a single mother, and pursued a master’s degree once her youngest children, twins, were in kindergarten. Through it all, she exemplified her greatest attributes of kindness and service to others. She touched those around her, working diligently as a clinical social worker to improve the lives of the under-served. Her determination inspires her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to pursue their passions regardless of obstacles.

Her family members always knew they were loved by her.  She made sure to give each family member a personalized Christmas present and birthday card without fail. As a devoted daughter, Sally compassionately cared for her mother during the final years of her life. She showed what it is to be a loving sister by frequent phone calls and extended trips to visit siblings as often as possible. As a mother, Sally was always present, and would do anything for her “four beautiful children”, Keri Lee Rentz Boren, Troy Rentz, Tyler Wayne Rentz, and Torrey James Rentz.  She perfected her title of grandma by attending innumerable sports events, school plays, and choir concerts, ensuring that all of her 16 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren would feel supported in their dreams. Sally was a connecting force for her family, often sacrificing time and expense to facilitate travel for herself and others in order to build relationships and memories.

Sally lived as a disciple of Jesus Christ, softly bearing testimony of her Savior by providing acceptance, forgiveness, gratitude, and charity. At the age of 8, Sally was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and from that day forward, she had the courage and strength to stand with Christ in the pursuit of grace and justice.

Sally passed during the early morning hours on October 8, 2023 to be reunited with her treasured mother, Ruby Hess Henderson, and others who preceded her in death including her late husband, Kenneth Carlyle Hall, and father, Howard Donald Henderson.

We invite you to celebrate her life and legacy on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at the Shepard Park Ward, 729 Shepard Lane, Farmington, Utah.  A viewing for family and friends will be held Saturday from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the funeral at the church.  Following the service, interment will be at the Farmington City Cemetery at approximately 1:30 p.m.
