Sally Keyes Obituary

Sally Ray Keyes
03/26/1940 - 02/24/2026
Sally Ray (Broussard) Keyes of Georgetown, Texas passed away on February 24, 2026 at the age of 85. She was born in Houston, Texas and graduated from St. Agnes Academy. Sally married Paul Keyes in 1960 and raised six sons. While her sons grew she provided a sanctuary for the family, allowing Paul to take on the significant challenges of his profession in the oil business. Because of Paul's business, her years of marriage were marked by many moves, establishing a home for the family in Baytown, TX, Houston, TX, New Orleans, LA, Kingwood, TX, Morrison, CO, Longboat Key, FL, and finally Georgetown, TX. She always expressed that her two favorite places to live were Colorado and Florida. After her sons left home to pursue their own lives, Sally returned to college to study acting. Throughout her life she pursued her many talents and creative endeavors including sewing, carving, painting, crocheting, knitting, jewelry making, acting, film making, story telling, and short story writing. Sally was an award winning quilter, published author, and recording artist who was always interested in pursuing the next creative challenge. She contributed to the communities she lived in by joining the volunteer fire department and driving the pumper truck, served at the local library and was a scout merit badge councilor. Her entire life was marked by her welcoming and caring support for her husband, her boys, her many friends and her faithful dog 'Bubba'.

Sally is predeceased by her husband of 60 years Paul Lincoln Keyes, her parents, Eloi Chester Broussard and Paula Mae (Artale) Broussard, her brother Chester Broussard, her sister in law Shirley (Bradley) Broussard and her brother in law Raymond Poole.

Sally is survived by her sister, Pamela (Broussard) Poole, her sister in law, Barbara (Keyes) Stanley, husband Kenneth Stanley, her six sons and their wives, Timothy Paul (Margaret Poltorak), James Patrick (Julie Oppie), Michael John (Diana Baldwin), Paul Joseph, William Matthew (Tammy Henning) and Jonathan Andrew; her grandchildren Dustin, Alec (Brooke), Christian, Felicia, Michael (Jessica), and Megan; and her great grandchildren, Aiden, Avery, Ainslee, Ethan, Emily, and Gibson, along with many cousins and nieces and nephews.

A viewing, wake and prayer service will be held at Ramsey Memorial Home 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas on Saturday February 28, 2026 at 12 noon with the prayer service to follow at 1:30pm.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church 4280 Gulf of Mexico Drive Longboat Key, FL 34228 at a date to be determined. Internment will follow the service at the Memorial Garden at St. Mary's.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Keyes Family Foundation; a nonprofit foundation established by Paul and Sally to give back to local communities:
