"There is love that will live forever and there are memories that will shine through the sorrow"
After experiencing 92 years of a wonderfully blessed life, Sally Kreuczunas has peacefully left this earth, she was surrounded by the love and support of her family, she is now in the arms of the Lord. Born in Troy, New Hampshire on August 28, 1932, she was the 8th child of Antoine and Marie Jeanne (Fortiere) Laporte. She will now share her eternal life alongside her husband Albert P. Kreuczunas, they were forever joined in holy matrimony on October 26, 1952 and enjoyed a blessed 69 years together.
Sally is survived by her children Cindy Kenyon (Gary) of Galway, Tina Vertucci (Terry), Stephen Kreuczunas and Jean Marie Coppola (Pasquale) all of Amsterdam, and by her grandchildren Stacey, Audrey, Heather, Kristi, Sariena Stephen Jr, Krishna, Simonne and Martina Rose and by 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters Jeanette Brown, Lucille Visciotti and Toni Lerew, her brother Gerald LaPorte, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sally was predeceased by her parents and her sisters Eva Laporte, Cecile Hill, Theresa Turley and her brothers Leo LaPorte, Joseph LaPorte, Phil Laporte and Andre Laporte and one great grandson, Guy.
Sally's most important job was her family, but she juggled being a wife, mother and housewife with amazing grace. Over her long life she worked at several places over the years, doing various jobs at Chalmers Mills, Grants, Mohawk Cleaners, Bertolis', Rossi and Jim's Restaurant's and Esquire Novelty and completed her career of 27 ½ years when she retired from her job as a dietary supervisor at the former Mount Loretto Nursing Home in 1995.
Sally was outgoing and an amazingly vibrant and very social woman. Being of Catholic faith, God was always an important part of her life. She enjoyed being a member of St. Casmir's Ladies Auxiliary, Mt. Loretto Ladies Auxiliary, Cranesville Country Cousins, Perth Seniors, and Horace J. Inman Center. In earlier years she enjoyed traditional family camping vacations, she loved bowling and enjoyed being a member of several leagues over the years. We all can attest that her passion for playing cards never ended. She spent time sewing outfits as we grew up and was always mending/ altering or creating items for us with her sewing machines even into her 90's. She was always ready to go. She loved adventure and enjoyed traveling, it didn't matter how, whether by car, bus, boat or air she was ready to go. In her later years she continued to galivant and slowing down really was not in her vocabulary She enjoyed a very healthy lifestyle that enabled her to still be able to live on her own and drive at 92, she still went to bingo, bus trips, casino's, church group trips, senior meetings, card groups and of course bocci ball. She enjoyed her game shows and also was an avid NY Yankees fan, her favorite team. But above all her family was her priority, spending time with all of us and enjoying family gatherings, watching and experiencing her children's and grandchildren's milestones and just sharing everyday experiences with all of us. She was the mortar that held us together and gave was our strength and inspiration.
