Sally Link Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wright & Salmon Mortuary - Peoria on Sep. 8, 2025.
Sally Ann Link, age 78, passed away on September 5, 2025 at Carle Health Methodist in Peoria, IL.

Sally was born on February 1, 1947 in Sterling, IL, a daughter of the late William and Betty (Jackley) Southey. She is survived by one son, Phillip Link of Sheboygan, WI, one sister, Dianna (Jim) Thompson of Ohio and one brother, Paul (Manya) Southey of Florida. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Michelle and one brother.

Sally ministered to countless people by sharing her music and teaching/sermon content. People would send her blank cassette tapes requesting certain artists/albums and she would make high-quality recordings for them. She kept up with a Music catalogue with all her titles and would read the entire thing to people so they could order what they wanted. She did this for years. Her ministry touched people all over the country.

Sally was a woman of faith and she used every opportunity to share the gospel with people. She brought many people to the Lord and helped others strengthen their faith in Jesus.

Sally was certainly a fighter. She was diagnosed with colon/rectal cancer. She had major surgery to have a colostomy and had to rely on a catheter permanently after surgery. they wanted to put her in a nursing home thinking that a blind person could not handle taking care of her catheter and colostomy, but she refused and persevered and lived alone for another 13 years.

Cremation Rites have been accorded.

I went to school with Sally for many years and will miss her very much. We grew up together. She was on many health oriented national chat phone lines. She attended events at the Central Illinois Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired until her health prevented her from enjoying the activities.

My husband Terry also enjoyed her friendship. I have received many calls from people who asked about her since her passing. They were all deeply saddened by her passing. We will keep her friends and family in our thoughts and prayers.
