Sally Nuckles Obituary

Sally Ruth Nuckles, 88, passes away peacefully at San Gabriel Rehabilitation Center, Round Rock, Texas on July 27, 2024.

She was born September 30, 1935, to Walter and Ruth (Bain) McDermott in Boston, MA.. After completing high school in Newton, MA, she graduated from Regis College, Weston, MA, with a degree in Education and Sociology.

She met her husband, James Nuckles in La Cruces, New Mexico while he was serving in the Air Force. Sally and Jim were married on July 4, 1961. They had two children, Michael born in 1962 and Martin born in 1966. The family moved to Austin in1970 where Sally lived for many years until illness necessitated her move to Round Rock.

Sally is preceding in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years and her son Martin.

She is survived by her son Michael and granddaughters Courtney, Megan and Kellie Nuckles of Green Bay, WI and sister-in-law, Mary Casbeer and brother-in-law of Lampasas, TX.

There will be visitation on August 5, 2024, beginning at 5 p.m. with Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. at Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home 607 E Anderson Lane, Austin, TX. Funeral service will be held on August 6, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. also at Austin Peel Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Smith Cemetery at School Creek 4926 FM 2527, Lampasas, TX at 12:30 p.m.
