Newmarket - Sally Anne Rosa, 92, of Wadleigh Falls Road died peacefully on December 22, 2022 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover.
Born June 8, 1930 in Boston, MA, she was raised by Patrick George Farrington and Mary Esther (Burgess) Farrington. Sally's life had a unique beginning, in November of 1931, he to be mother, Mary, saw an ad in the Boston American Newspaper which read "Healthy Baby Girl for Adoption". She went on to graduate from Somerville High School in 1948.
She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Newmarket Community Church, and the Newmarket Women's Club. She also served as Town Treasurer in the 1970's and was a real estate broker in Newmarket.
Sally enjoyed spending winters at their home in Florida and summers at the cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee and traveling in their later years in their motorhome. Sally loved spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Paul Rosa Jr. who died in 2018.
Survivors include her sons, Wayne and his wife Janice and Gary and his wife Sheryl, both of Newmarket; 5 grandchildren, Michael and Amanda of Pemiquid, Maine, Jane and Jon of Newmarket, Stephen and JoAnna of Rochester, Sally and Eric of St. Thomas, VI, James and Silas of Berwick, Maine; 8 great grandchildren, Lilly, William, Eva, Benjamin, George, Ayla, Hal and Caleb; her brother, Hal and Rita Farrington of Lexington, MA; sisters-in-law Frances Lamb of Stoneham, MA and Louraine Silver of Venice, FL
A visiting hour will be held on Friday, December 30th from 2:30 - 3:45 p.m. at Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home & Crematory, 77 Exeter Road (Route 108), Newmarket. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. at the Newmarket Community Church, 137 Main Street, Newmarket with a reception in the church hall after.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Eastern Star or the NH SPCA.
