Sally Anne Britton Shreeve was born on August 12, 1935, in Glendale, California, to Glenn and Leona (Peterson) Britton. She lived there for a few months before the family moved to Iowa. A year after Sally was born, her sister Sue Britton Orwick joined the family. Sally loved her sister, Sue. Later, they lived in Montana and Utah. Sally attended Utah State University, where she met a handsome Army Officer at a dance, who became the love of her life, Caleb Anthon Shreeve.
In 1955, Sally married Caleb "Cal" Shreeve in the Logan, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While in the Army, they lived overseas and in many states. Cal and Sally had seven children: Deborah Schuerman, Pamela Spencer, Tamara Shreeve, Gregory Shreeve, Teresa (Rick) Sargent, Bradley (Natalie) Shreeve, and Gary (Tonya) Shreeve. They have thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sally loved her husband and family with a love that only grew stronger as she grew older.
Sally was the mother that most people only dream of having. It was a miracle how our mother managed school meetings, parent organizations, practices, events, and church when there was only one of her and seven of us! We fondly look back at our childhoods with the memories of how she raised us with love, patience, and determination. She could not get enough of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She would shower them with love, delicious food, and create lasting memories, which included the tradition of making holiday candy trains every year!
Sally loved attending exercise classes with her friends and spending time researching her family history. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as Primary President, Young Women's President twice, and Relief Society President, but her favorite calling of all was teaching the youth. She was an amazing and inspiring woman who lived her life with unconditional love, compassion, and kindness. We thank her for giving us life and making it so beautiful!
