In Loving Memory of Sally Shults My mom peacefully left her days of nature on the morning of October 21, 2025, passing at home in her favorite chair with her wonderful aide, Robin Dams, by her side. After a courageous battle with COPD over several years, she found rest at last.
She moved to Ellenville in the early 1960s as a single mother, and began working as a switchboard operator for the New York Telephone Company and as a waitress at the Shamrock Bar & Grill before finding employment at the Ellenville National Bank, where she proudly worked for over 30 years. She was deeply grateful for the lasting friendships she made there, especially with Lucy Padilla, Ronnie Dickman, Ellen Bugna, and Robert Vasquez.
She is predeceased by her sisters, Frances Graffeo of Ellenville, NY, and Barbara Scaramellino of Peekskill, NY. She loved her nieces and nephews, especially fond of her nephew Philip Graffeo.
A heartfelt thanks to the Ellenville First Aid and Rescue Squad and the Ellenville Hospital Rehab unit. Her passing will help me realize the enduring strength and the resiliency of love—one that transcends life itself—for which I will be eternally grateful. "And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.” As per my mother’s request, there will be no services. Remembrances may be made in the form of contributions to St. Jude’s’s Children’s Hospital and the ASPCA.
