Sally Wright Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ingram Funeral Home - St. Marys on Dec. 22, 2025.
Sally Jo Moreland Wright December 15, 1942 – December 21, 2025 Sally Jo Moreland Wright, 83, of St. Marys, passed away on December 21, 2025. She was born December 15, 1942, to Dorothy Shingleton Moreland Bills and Charles Richard Moreland. Several years after the death of Sally's father, Dorothy married Linden Aaron Bills in November 1950, and Linden lovingly became her "dad." After graduating from St. Marys High School, Sally married the love of her life, Ramon Wright, who preceded her in death on June 28, 2018, one month before their 58th wedding anniversary. She was a devoted member of Waverly United Methodist Church. Sally enjoyed gardening and cooking, but most of all she cherished her family, friends, and her beloved dog, Spot. Sally will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and gentle guidance. She was the matriarch of her family-the steady presence and the glue that held generations together. She lived her faith daily, loved God deeply, and consistently pointed her family toward Jesus through her words, actions, and example. Sally taught those around her how to live simply, love generously, and care deeply for one another. She also loved her country, never missing an opportunity to vote, and made sure her family understood the importance of doing the same. She is survived by her sons, Chuck (Karen) Wright, and their children, Alicia Wright and Garrett Wright; Jason (Robin) Wright, and their children, Andie (Michael) Arnott, and their children, Kamryn Arnott and Holt Arnott; Brett (Kiersten) Wright, and their children, Bentley Wright, Haley Wright, Maverick Wright, Liam Wright, and Bodhi Wright; Kylie (Reid) Phillips, and their son, Koen Phillips; and Eric (Misty) Wright, and their children, Lilyan (Jackson) Starkey, Marina Wright, and Tyler Wright. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Fiore, Cheryl Satterfield, and Alisha (Eric) Cottrill; her brother, Michael Bills; her sisters-in-law, Carolyn Wright, Barbara Bills, and Connie Bills; her niece, Kenna Sue Davis; her nephew, Ronnie Wright; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her in-laws, Donald and Lillian Wright; her brother-in-law, Kenny Wright; her brothers, Ted V. Adams, Max Bills, Roger Bills, and Steve Bills; her grandparents, James Albert and Cora Debitha Moreland, Port and Lena Shingleton, Lee and Golda Bills, and special grandparents, Norman and Anna Minear; and her aunts and uncles, Donald and Lula Moreland, Marie and Rolla Reed, Irene and Virgil Wingrove, Earl and Lora Shingleton, Betty Vaughn, Mary and Tom Braun, Joe Smith, Virginia Hall, George and Grace Bills, Enid Good, Brian and Jackie Bills, Marise and Del Stiffler, Christy Kramer, and Leon Bills. Our family has lost one of the most precious ladies we have ever known-so loving, so genuine, and so deeply cherished. Though our hearts fight back tears, we are comforted knowing Sally lived a full and meaningful life. She was loved by so many and made a lasting impact on countless lives. Her legacy of faith, love, and family will continue through the generations she nurtured and guided. In keeping with her wishes, Sally requested that no traditional funeral service be held. Instead, a celebration of life and graveside service will be held closer to spring for family and friends to gather and honor her life. Rest well, dear Sally, until we meet again. In lieu of Flowers contributions can be made to Pleasants County Senior Citizens. An online guest register is available at www.ingramfh.com

Yesterday

Sally was a very special lady with a smile that lit up the room. She was so loved by so many. I met Sally in 2015 after I married her brother in law, Kenny Wright. She quickly embraced me as her new sister in law and welcomed me to the family. Over the years she became a very dear friend. I thank God for the time we had together and I will never forget her or her kindness to me.
