John Christopher Ball

Chris Ball, 49, St. Marys, WV, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025 at WVU Medicine Ruby Memorial Hospital with his wife by his side. Born in Parkersburg, WV, on November 28, 1976, he was the son of Mary (Mike) McSweeney Gray and the late Terry Ball. He was a 1995 graduate of St. Marys High School and a graduate of WVU with a BS in Physical Education. He was a member of Maple Lane Free Will Baptist Church. He was a video assistant for WVU Football. Chris was a football video coordinator for the following Colleges, Eastern Michigan, Furman, Yale, Georgia State, and Georgia Southern. He assisted St. Marys Football with their video. His hobby was football.

Survivors other than his mother and step-father include his wife, Sarah Hadley Ball; brother Michael (Miranda) Ball; niece, Paisley Hadley; nephew, Marshall Hadley; great aunt/grandma, Cora Matheney; aunts, Cindy McSweeney, and Teresa (Joe) Roby; and cousins, Bridget (Frank) McCreery, Ashley (Garrett) Fleming, Loftyn West, Ashley (Billy) Longwell, and Gavan (Rebekka) McSweeney. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, John and Alta McSweeney, and John and Bessie Ball, and uncle, John Mike McSweeney. The family would like to thank DaVita Dialysis, Grand Central for their care for Chris.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, December 22, 2025 at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Pastor Tom Blake and Pastor Rex Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Lane Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Sunday and from 10 to 11 AM Monday at the funeral home.
