Salvador Ramirez (July 8, 1946 - April 24, 2024)It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Salvador Ramirez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Salvador passed away on April 24, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He was born in Victoria, TX to the late Manuel and Carolina Ramirez.
Salvador dedicated over 30 years of his life to Phillips 66/Chevron Phillips as a pipefitter, showcasing his hard work and dedication. After retirement, he continued to impact lives by working with the Physical Education Department at Sweeny Elementary School for 8 years. His eyes always lit up when he interacted with the children, forming lasting bonds with each one.
Fondly known as 'Lolo' to his grandkids, Salvador radiated love and warmth towards his family. He adored his kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren beyond measure, creating a nurturing and supportive environment for all of them to thrive in.
Salvador's passion for sports was evident through his unwavering support for the Sweeny Bulldogs. He never missed a game, especially if it involved watching his kids and grandkids excel on the field.
Salvador held dear his family and faith, being an integral part of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Sweeny, where he taught CCE and served as a Eucharist Minister. His commitment to creating lasting memories with his grandkids will be a cherished part of his legacy.
He leaves behind a loving wife of 58 years, Laura Ramirez; son Marcus Ramirez (Deanna) of Richmond, TX; daughter Raquel Wilkerson (Marc) of Lake Jackson, TX; grandchildren Hillary, Charissa, Jennifer (Chad), Stephanie, Larry, Marcie and Stacie; great-grandchildren William, Brixton, Bailey, Magni, Truett, Everly, Juliet, Callahan, Tristan, Dean, Trevor, Hailey, Hazel, Ben and eagerly anticipated great-granddaughter Jillian Rose arriving in August.
Salvador is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Carolina Ramirez, as well as siblings Jesse Ramirez, Helen Alvarado, Lupe Balboa, Eddie Ramirez, and Arthur Ramirez.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 5-6:30 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at C.T. Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia. Viewing will be held on Wednesday May 1st at 9:30 a.m. with funeral mass to begin at 10:30a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Sweeny. Interment to follow at Sweeny Cemetery.
In Salvador's passing, we remember a man whose presence brought joy to all those around him. His kindness and love will forever remain in our hearts as we carry on his legacy of family values and cherished memories.
Pallbearers will be Elijah Luna, Joshua Luna, Nicholas Simpson, Manuel Luna, Esteban Martinez, and Gilbert Martinez.
