Obituary of Salvatore DiMauro

Salvatore DiMauro, 90, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of the late Anita (Maselli) DiMauro passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2025, at his daughter Gina's home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 8, 1935 in Hartford to the late Paul and Mary (Migliore) DiMauro. He journeyed across the ocean to Sicily at 18 months old and returned to Connecticut when he was 12. Sal was married at 21 years old, on June 16, 1956 to his beautiful wife Anita and they had three children Donna, Sal, Jr., and Gina and raised them in Glastonbury.

He had an incredible work ethic, and worked most of his life at Engineered Building Products as a skilled Master Fabricator. He created custom architectural metal work, specializing in stairs and railings and did not retire until he was 80 years old.

He loved family gatherings on Sundays after attending his wonderful church, Church of the Living God in Manchester. He was a man of great faith and loved to worship God with all his heart.

Sal will be greatly missed by all those who loved and knew him. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was fondly known as "Grandpa" to many young people outside of his own family members.

Sal is survived by his son, Salvatore DiMauro, and his wife, Jennifer, of Manchester, and his daughter Gina Orbea, and her husband, Jesus, of Glastonbury, as well seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters-law and one brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Sal was predeceased by his daughter Donna M. Johnson.

Friends may call at Church of the Living God, 199 Deming St., Manchester, on Thursday August 21 from 10am to 12 noon with a funeral service celebrated at 12 noon. Burial will be private at Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Church of the Living God, 199 Deming St., Manchester, CT.
