Salvatore Marcuccilli, a longtime Yonkers resident and recently of Valhalla, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025 with his nieces by his side; at the age of 98 years old. He was born in Grant County, Indiana on May 6, 1926, son of the late Anthony & Virginia (nee Mazza) Marcuccilli.
Salvatore proudly served in the United States Navy from 1944-1946; stationed in the Philippines.
Sal was predeceased by his beloved wife Theresa (nee Denise) Marcuccilli. He was also predeceased by his seven brothers & two sisters, along with his parents.
Sal was a extraordinary mechanic, and loved working on cars and fixing anything. He owned and operated the Hillside Garage in Peekskill, for many years. In his spare time he would always love being with his family; family meant the world to them, they were such a close-knit family.
Salvatore is survived by his nieces Lisa Johansen and Virginia 'Ginnie' Cantalupo; his grand-nephews Jared (Kelsey) Johansen, Jordan (Joanna) Johansen; his great-nieces Charlotte, Cami and Alena Johansen. He is also survived by a host of extended family.
His Family will gather with Friends on Monday, March 17th from 4-8PM at the HAWTHORNE FUNERAL HOME, 21 W. Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, New York; where a Funeral Service will be held 10AM, Tuesday, March 18th followed by entombment at the Shrine of Memories Mausoleum in Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, New York; where also the United States Navy Honor will conduct military honors to honor his service.
