Funeral services celebrating the life of Sam Weaver Hightower, 92, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Mallya officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a vigil wake service at 6:00 P.M. Mr. Hightower passed away peacefully at his residence on January 1, 2026.

Mr. Hightower was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Sherrer Hightower and Wenonah Weaver Hightower, two brothers, Fred S. Hightower and Jerome R. Hightower, whom he now joins in eternal rest.

He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Monroe, LA. He served in the United States Army and was a retired salesman in the sporting goods industry. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved spending time with family in a duck blind.

Pallbearers will be David Kahn, Jr., Michael “Russ” Futrell, Viet Nguyen, Phung Nguyen, Wally Nguyen, and Matthew Tran.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Fatima School, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, or to a charity of your choice.
