In Loving Memory of Sam Kavalos
Sam Kavalos, born in Detroit, Michigan, on September 11, 1953. He bid farewell to this world on April 12, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family and cherished memories. He was a devoted father, a proud papou, a beloved brother, and a dear friend to many.
Sam, son of John and Sophie (Rafaill) Kavalos, is survived by his children Jonathan, Andreus, Kathryn, and Kevin (son-in-law), who were his pride and joy. His heart was filled with love for his three grandchildren, Chloe (11), Ethan(9), and Grayson(7), whose laughter brought him endless happiness. Sam's siblings Irene and Manoli (brother-in-law) stood as pillars of strength alongside him, sharing a bond woven with love and shared memories that will endure through the ages.
A man of many passions, Sam's eyes sparkled brightest when he talked about cars. His fascination with them was infectious, turning every conversation into a journey through the world of engines and horsepower. His love for Greek cuisine was evident in every meal shared, each bite a tribute to his heritage and the flavors he held dear. Sports held a special place in Sam's heart, devoted to hometown favorites, the Detroit Lions, Red Wings, and Tigers. Whether cheering from the stands or analyzing their plays from home, his enthusiasm was unwavering.
Beyond his interests, Sam will be remembered for his kindness, his willingness to lend a hand, and the love he had for his family and friends. His spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though Sam has bid us farewell, his memory will forever remain etched in our hearts. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love he so freely gave us during his time with us.
VIsitation for Sam will be held Thursday 3-8 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 Thirteen Mile Road (west of Hoover) Warren. His funeral will be held Friday where he will lie instate at 9:30 a.m. until time of his Funeral Service at 10 a.m. at Farmington Hills Church of God, 25717 Power Rd. (west of Orchard Lake Rd., south of 11 Mile Rd.) Farmington Hills. Interment will be in Woodmere Cemetery.
