Our beloved Sam Rollinson Jr. was born on January 31, 1974, in New Haven, CT. Son of Sam Rollinson Sr. and the late Viola (Boosie) James-Rollinson. He entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
Sam has always been known to warm up and then bring great excitement to any event or gathering he was present at. Ever since Sam was a little boy, he was known to have a mind of his own. When Sam was young, he used to go running up and down the isles in clothing stores. If you told him to sit down, he wanted to stand up and if you told him to stand up, he wanted sit down. That was just Sam's personality; one in which he did as he pleased. Sam attended Troup Middle School and Hill House High, New Haven, CT, in which he had a variety of friends. Sam loved to hang out and just have an easy-going time. Sam took pleasure in playing baseball for some time on the New Haven little league baseball team throughout his younger years. Sam was an industrious worker who worked at varies job settings. He loved to show up to family events and it usually was not long before he would crack open a bottle and become the life of the party. Sam had a loving and caring side to him, and he would often reach out to hug his elders and show appreciation when the time was right. One thing that will not be forgotten, is Sam's laugh and his vibrant smile that made you want to join in and find out what it was that was so hilarious. Sam's presence will be missed at holiday events, and he will remain in the hearts of his loved ones.
Sam leaves to cherish his memory in his sister LaVerne Rollinson-Ofori of Middletown, CT. Ten Loving Aunties in all: Lila James, Phyllis James, and Charlene James all of Hamden, CT. Joetta Addison (Earnest) of St. Stephen, SC. Betty Rollerson of Columbia, SC. Linda Rollerson of Salters, SC. Minnie Rollerson-Marion (Donald) of Jacksonville, FL. Uncles: John James Jr. of New Haven, CT and Albert Rollerson Jr. of Columbia, SC. Nephew: Isaiah Anderson of Middletown, CT, along with a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
