Sam Stevens passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024.
Sam was born on February 14, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland as the fourth son to parents John and Lola Mae (Null) Stevens and their rapidly growing family. Soon the family was blessed with the addition of two sisters to complete the family tree. Sam graduated from Loudon High in 1969 and from the University of Tennessee in 1975. He worked most of his life as an engineer for TVA and the Department of Defense retiring in 2008.He was an independent and hard-working man; but he always maintained a strong love for his family (both close and distant) and all of the many friends he made throughout his lifetime. His life on this earth has been blessed by each and every one of them. He has always trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior ever since he was baptized as a young boy at Blairland Baptist Church.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Lola Mae Stevens and his three brothers, John H Stevens, Richard Dale Stevens and Bobbie Joe Stevens. He is survived by both of his blessed sisters, Devonna Ann Esslinger, Loudon and Deanna Kay Kyle, Gulfport, MS, numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.
Per his request, Sam will be cremated and there shall not be any showing nor graveside services after his death. If you would like to make a memorial donation, please consider one to your favorite, no-kill animal shelter.
If you were a loved one of Sam's or friend, you have surely heard the following, "I gotta go now, Are you with me?"

I am very saddened to hear of his passing. Sam was a true friend to my Dad, James Huskey and me. He was there for us so many times caring for dad's puppies, Scrapper and Molly. I appreciate always, his kindness. My condolences to his family. Rest in peace my friend.
