Samantha Wade

Samantha Wade is Iñupiaq and was raised in the village of Ulguniq (Wainwright), Alaska. She currently serves as the Inuit Strategy Specialist at the Inuit Circumpolar Council (ICC) Alaska. Samantha earned a Master's in One Health, and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She is also completing a Master's Certificate in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, which she will receive in May 2025 from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Samantha is honored to contribute to ICC Alaska's work and looks forward to celebrating the strength of Inuit voices and perspectives.
In her role, she facilitates Inuit engagement in the implementation of the Central Arctic Ocean Fisheries Agreement and supports the development and implementation of the Alaskan Inuit Arctic Strategy. She also monitors international, federal, and state regulations and policies related to Arctic marine governance, while advising ICC Alaska leadership.
Samantha enjoys traveling back to her hometown, fishing, camping, picking berries and greens on the tundra, sewing, beading, and speaking and learning her Iñupiaq language.
