Samantha Walker Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 1, 2024.
Samantha Walker, beloved mother to 4 children, 58, of Dresden, Tennessee, passed away in Mayfield, Kentucky on October 30, 2024.
Samantha was born in 1966 to Paul and Sharon Ricketts. I'm not sure when she said her first word, but anyone who knew her knows she never stopped talking since. She consistently received marks in school for talking too much and there was rarely a moment of silence when she was in the room. She loved telling her stories and she found a captive audience with her grandkids making sure they learned all about her youth and the stories of her boys. She attended schools in Dresden and UTM, before working at World Color, attending the Bear Valley Bible Institute and raising her family as a preacher's wife, stay-at-home mom, foster parent, and various volunteer roles.
Samantha was a devoted mother to Wesley (married to Amanda), Neal (married to Marilyn), Samuel (married to Karah), and Matthew (deceased) and Mimi, which is the role she most cherished, to Presley, Audrey, Millee, Emmett, Silas, and Evelyn.
Samantha loved her family, cheering loudly, and oftentimes angrily for her Vols, playing games and above else her grandkids.
Even as her health failed her the last few years, Samantha was as active as she could be with her church family, encouraging others in their walk with God, and in studying the Bible.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
We will be honoring her life on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Hatler's Chapel Church of Christ with a visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. and a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. As well as a visitation on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the Woodson Chapel Church of Christ from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
