Sami Ann Signorino, born on July 28, 1959, unexpectedly passed away on April 16, 2025.
Sami was born in Elkhart, Indiana to Michele WR Signorino and Judith A (Stow) Signorino. She is survived by her daughter, Paddy Spei Johnson; her sisters Susie Signorino and Sallie Signorino; and her father and Michele WR Signorino. She is preceded in death by her mother, Judy Signorino and brother, Michele A Signorino.
Sami was a self-taught and extraordinary chef. She worked at many first rate restaurants in Chicago and owned the notable Piatti Restaurant in Old Town for several years.
Her interest in food science led her to Park 100 Foods, Inc, where she became a Research and Development Executive Chef, where she helped develop custom crafted foods and product innovation for 11 years.
At the time of her passing, she was working and creating her culinary delights for Leeds Public House in Michigan City, Indiana.
Sami was an intelligent, thoughtful and creative woman who was also a breast cancer survivor. She had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge which covered many topics such as history, science and animals.
Sami was an active advocate for all animals, owning and caring for many rescues during her lifetime.

Cremation will take place at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd, LaPorte, 219-362-3100, who are caring for the arrangements.
