Sammie W. Fields, age 90, of Lexington, widow of Harold Donald Fields, Sr., passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025. She was born in Harlan, KY on November 23, 1934, a daughter of the late Curtis and Ruth Thompson Wainscott. Sammie was a retired receptionist with the Fayette County School System after 30 years of service. She is survived by: four children, Melva Ramona (Daryll) Helenburg of Lexington, Harold Donald "Donnie" Fields, Jr. of Independence, KY, Christopher W. Fields of Lexington, and Jeffrey O. (Windy) Fields of Lexington; grandchildren, Stacy Gumm, Kristin Pritchett, Joshua Fields, Corey Fields, and Jennifer Fleming; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Victoria Wainscott of Lexington. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Melva Bailey. Services are private. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Road is in care of arrangement details.

Terribly sorry to hear about Sammy's passing. I haven't seen her for so many years, and I just read in her announcement that Melva had passed two I did not even know that either. I bowled with both of them for many years and went out to eat together. I am so sorry I love both of those sisters so much. My love to the family and their loss. Pat Moberly
