Sammie Pearson Obituary
Sam Pearson, Jr. was born on July 2, 1962 in Bishopville, South Carolina to the late U.S. Army Master Sergeant Sammie Pearson Sr. and Carrie Tindel Pearson. He lived in many different states in the United States and attended and graduated high school in Yokosuka, Japan on a navel military base. He also attended and graduated undergraduate from Christopher Newport University in Newport News Virginia and graduated from the Howard University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree.
Over the course of his professional career Sam worked in many areas in the legal field. He held assignments as a defense contractor with the federal government and with the United States military. To Sam the most honorable and rewarding years were those he spent working at the Pentagon, headquarters for the U.S. Department of Defense as a defense contractor.
In his semi-retired years he worked for the Montgomery County Board of Elections as an election judge trainer where he made many friends and filled many roles for the election board due to his unique status as a registered independent voter in a county overrun with democrats.
Sam Pearson Jr. is survived by his wife Ramona Bell-Pearson, their two adult children Joshua Pearson and Samantha Pearson, his mother Carrie Pearson, a brother Christopher Pearson and a sister Felecia Pearson. He is also survived by a niece September West, two nephews Messiah Pearson and Malachi Pearson, a god son Ryan Rakovan and two honorary brothers Joe Coco and Bob Jones who are very much as part of our family.

Sam was one of the few real friends I had, even if only for a few years. We connected as a result of our shared interest in chess and played continuously online. He will be missed by his Chess.com friends and some of our C&O students as well. -- Omar Pancoast
