Sammy Daniels Jr. was born on May 31, 1953, in Wilson County, North Carolina, to the late Samuel Fox and Helen Daniels. On January 2, 2026, Sam answered the Lord's call and peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to his heavenly home.

Sam was raised in Greene County, North Carolina, where he was educated in the Greene County Public School System and later graduated from Speight High School in Saratoga, North Carolina. Known for his quiet strength and steady presence, Sam was a man who believed in doing what needed to be done without complaint and without fanfare.A hardworking provider, Sam worked in various industries within the workforce from Geometric Tools, Schieders, and Roadway. In 1992, he began employment with John B. Pierce Laboratory, along with his side business "Rock2Rock Construction", where he worked faithfully until his illness in 2015. He took pride in earning an honest living and was respected for his dependability, dedication, and strong work ethic. To those who knew him best, Sam was a devoted father, a loyal friend, and a man of his word. He was known for his dry humor, straightforward nature, and the way he showed love through actions rather than words. Family meant everything to him, and he took great pride in his children and grandchildren. Sammy shared a special bond with his granddaughter Jai Jai, she cared for him until his sunset. He also valued lifelong friendships. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Fox and Helen Daniels; and his brothers, Staton Daniels and Demitrice "Pete" Daniels.

He leaves to cherish his memory his three beloved children:Kendrick Barron of Lanham, Maryland; Tamika Lane (Shawn) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and his youngest daughter, Tushima Daniels-Reed (Roshawn) of New Haven, Connecticut, that cared for him since his illness began. Sam and Roshawn shared a special bond that will forever be cherished. His seven treasured grandchildren: Paige Barron of Houston, Texas; Morgan Williams of Totowa, New Jersey; Cassandra "Jai Jai" Dubose of West Haven, CT; Asia Edmonds of Hickory, NC; Joshua Edmonds of Charlotte, NC; King "Dolemite" Reed; and Syn'cere Helen-Gray Reed of New Haven, CT. He is also survived by his siblings: David Daniels, Melvin Fox, Kevin Foxx (Sherrima), and Ruth Isler (Timothy), all of Wilson, North Carolina; Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Fox and Helen Daniels; and his brothers, Staton Daniels and Demitrice "Pete" Daniels. Also cherishing his memory is his ex-wife, Cassandra Daniels, who remained a supportive and caring friend, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Especially Raymond Moore that visited daily and often assisted with his care taking whether it was keeping him company, a ride to the barbershop, doctor's appointments and so much more. Sammy "Sam" Daniels Jr. will be remembered for his loyalty, strength, and unwavering love for those closest to him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.
