Sammy Grimes Obituary

He was born January 2, 1950, in St Mary's, WV, a son of the late Samie D. Grimes and Eileen Hutchison Grimes.
He was a retired ironworker with Local #549, Wheeling, WV, member of Narrows Run Church of Christ, Sardis, OH. He loved to fish, was a big WVU and Ohio State Fan. He coached area youth sports for years in basketball and baseball. He helped build the baseball fields in Sardis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Grimes.
Survivors include three sons, Barry (Candice) Grimes, Brett (Amanda) Grimes and Brandon Grimes, all of Sardis, OH; a sister, Sheryl (Todd) Stockel of Marietta, OH; seven grandchildren, Derek, Kyle, Logan, Dillon, Brielle, Ambie and Sydney; seven great grandchildren, two nieces, Valerie Ritter and Katy Reynolds; two nephews, Robert Grimes and Adam Hossman and his beloved dog, Sam.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Sardis Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to your local Humane Society.
