Mr. Samuel Ray Bulluck Jr., 62, transitioned on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Nash UNC Healthcare, Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." - Matthew 5:16 (NIV)
Samuel Ray Bulluck, a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away on August 28, 2025, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
Known to everyone as a strong light and a fun-loving man, Samuel was never a stranger to anyone he met. He was admired and loved by all for his kind heart and unwavering support. Born on August 7, 1962 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Samuel spent his youth between his birthplace and Newark New Jersey. From a young age, he developed a passion for brick masonry and construction, a career he began at just 15 years old. He learned the trade under the guidance of his stepfather, William "Whitlock" Fields Jr. This early experience set the foundation for a lifelong career that he loved deeply.
Samuel was a pillar of strength for his family. They could always depend on him to be there, not only during the good times but also during the most challenging moments. He lived out the words of Galatians 6:2: "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
He had a giving heart that touched countless lives. Among those he held closest was his daughter, Kadeeja Bulluck, whom he loved dearly. He cherished his last conversation about her childhood.
Samuel was preceded in death by his son, Brian Wiggins; his mother, Emily Delois Fields; his father, Samuel Anderson; his stepfather, William Fields Jr.; his grandmother, Wilhema Tyson; and his oldest sister, Cynthia Bullock, sister Wanda Anderson and brother Lonnie Lee Bulluck.
He is survived by his daughter, Kadeeja Bulluck; his godmother, Mrs. Delois "Ma Lois" Manning; his sisters Debbie Bulluck, Brenda Bullock, Sandra Bullock and Sharmarie Bullock; and his brother William Anderson. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jeremiah Bulluck, Jasmine Jones- Bulluck, Isis Powell and Raekwon Powell, sister-in-law Mary Griego and Nikasha Hills, a host of fourteen nephews, four nieces and three nephews.
Even though Samuel is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. A man with a heart so full of love will never be forgotten.
We'll love you always Sam.
