Samuel Lee Dean (January 17, 1951 – September 15, 2025)
The Dean family announces the passing of Samuel Lee Dean, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and friend. Born January 17, 1951, Sam lived a life rooted in love, hard work, and service to others.
Sam proudly served as a United States Navy submariner, cherishing his time in the service. Afterward, he worked as an electrician and in the oil fields at home and abroad, providing faithfully for his family. On weekends, he often brought his son to jobs, teaching the value of persistence and a strong work ethic.
For more than 50 years, Sam shared life with his wife, Carolyn Dean, in the home they built together. He is survived by his son Tim Dean, daughters-in-law Jenny and Shannon, and seven beloved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Matt, and his family finds comfort in their faith that he is reunited with him in God’s care.
Sam was a Scoutmaster who instilled a love for the outdoors in his children. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to build, weld, and create with their hands. He had a lifelong passion for geology, was active in the gold mining community, and was always willing to help others. Those who knew him will also remember his simple joys, especially his love of chocolate chip cookies.
Above all, Sam loved his wife and family deeply. His legacy is one of devotion, resilience, and kindness, carried forward by all who knew and loved him
