Samuel Michael Harman, 30, passed away unexpectedly on July 14, 2025. He was born on May 18, 1995, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and welcomed by his loving parents Joanne and Marcus Harman. As a youth in Bethany, Oklahoma, he attended Overholser Elementary, Western Oakes Middle School, and Putnam City West High School. He was previously employed in construction as a roofer.
Sam was a natural and gifted athlete in many sports. He participated in team sports playing baseball, basketball, and football. He earned numerous trophies and awards including a national title in baseball. He followed Michigan State University basketball (his cousin Erich's Alma Mater) after attending a college game. Sam was a skilled skateboarder and loved to produce videos showcasing his tricks. He was a BSA scout for 5 years earning the Arrow of Light award. During this time, he was introduced to fishing which turned into a favorite pastime. Sam spent summers in Michigan with his maternal relatives. He eagerly took on responsibilities of assisting his grandfather with his lawn mowing business. He enjoyed trips to Lake Michigan, Silver Lake riding dune buggies, fishing and pontoon rides.
Sam was preceded in death by his father, Marcus Harman; brothers, Jeremiah Harman, and infant Jacob Harman; maternal grandparents, Anne Louise and William Johnson; paternal grandparents, Samuel and Marianna Harman; Aunt, Catherine Dickey; cousins, William Dickey and Michael Senn.
Survivors include his beautiful daughter Lily Jo; mother, Joanne Harman; brother Marcus; aunts and uncles, Ed and Linda, John and Carol, Doug and Mary Lou, and James; many cousins, and extended family in Indonesia. Family was important to Sam and this love is what sustained him during difficult times. He was very appreciative of the love and support from his mother and grateful that his daughter was living a good life. He expressed these sentiments in his last conversation. Sam was loved and his conversations and dimpled smile will be missed.
Interment will be later at Marlette Cemetery 3580 S Van Dyke Rd, Marlette, MI 48453.
