Michael Dean Reed, age 49, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, at his home in Oklahoma City from a pulmonary embolism. He was born in Oklahoma City on March 2, 1976, to Larry Dean and Linda (Miller) Reed.
Michael graduated from Putnam City West High School in 1994. His favorite class was band, where Michael shared his talent playing the saxophone.
His professional career began as a great salesman for the Motorola Pager Company. Michael then transitioned his career into transportation obtaining his commercial driver's license and becoming a long-haul truck driver. He drove his semi-truck to help supply many businesses in times of crisis. Due to a medical condition that began causing blood clots, Michael decided to start another business, driving a Sprinter van allowing for smaller deliveries with shorter routes.
He was just like his dad, a jack of all trades. Michael had a wonderful sense of humor and was an avid movie lover.
Michael was preceded in death by his father Larry Dean Reed; paternal grandparents Dennis and Millie Mae Reed, and maternal grandparents Delvin and Rothel Mae Miller. He is survived by his loving son Alexander Reed; mother Linda Reed; older sister Angela Christine Reed; nephew Taylor Reed Bankston, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life for Michael will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Yanda and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Yukon, OK.
