Mr. Samuel Marcus Harper, age 64, of Dallas, passed away on September 26, 2025. Born in Villa Rica, Georgia, on July 16, 1961, he was the son of the late Alvin Eugene Harper and Sarah Nell Roberts Harper. Samuel was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Penny Roberts Harper.
Throughout his life, Samuel dedicated many years to working at Flowers Bakery. He had a passion for the outdoors, finding joy in activities such as fishing, hunting, and camping.
Samuel is survived by his two sons, Danny Baker and Christopher Harper, along with his daughter-in-law Mechelle Baker. His beloved daughter, Amanda Lanning, and son-in-law Kevin Lanning, also carry on his legacy. He was a proud grandfather to Cameron Isaac Wayne Baker, Angel Harper, Dayson Harper, Brittany Harper, Claire Harper, Keyana Lambert, Kayla Lanning, Daniel Lanning, and Brandon Lanning. Additionally, Samuel was a cherished great-grandfather to Izzy Brittain, Brae Taylor, Kennedy Reid, Amaya Reid, Kolton Lanning, Brantley Lanning, Luke Lanning, and Bowen Lanning.
In accordance with Mr. Harper’s arrangements, he will be cremated.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life, details of which will be announced at a later date. Samuel will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
