Samuel N. "Sam" Jacobelli 92, of Ft. Myers Beach died December 18, 2021, at his residence after an extended illness. Sam was born March 26, 1929, in New York City, NY a son of the late Emilio and Anna M. (Boggi) Jacobelli. He had been a resident of Ft. Myers Beach since 1993 coming from Cape Coral where he had lived since 1983 moving from Massapequa, LI, New York.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army. Sam was a member of the Church of the Ascension and a former member of the American Legion.
He was the former owner of Samjac Transportation Company in New York.
Sam is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joan E. Jacobelli; 4 nephews, Raymond Jacobelli, Gerald Jacobelli, Peter Haarmann and Paul Haarmann. He is also survived by his faithful companion Buddy, his Shiatsu dog.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Raymond Jacobelli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 9:30 AM at the Church of the Ascension 6025 Estero Blvd., Ft. Myers Beach, FL 33931. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery 950 Chiquita Blvd. S., Cape Coral, FL 33991.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Church of the Ascension.
