Of Horseheads, NY passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the age of 69. Sam was born on September 14, 1955 in Elmira, NY, to the late Samuel and Theresa Kemp.
Sam is survived by three sons, Gregory of Rock Hill, SC; Jeffrey (Amber) of Horseheads, NY; and Shawn (Tasha) of Summerville, SC; his grandchildren, Autumn, Maddox, Greyson, Lucas, Emma, and Logan; and his special friends, Don "Hammy" Hammond and Mike and Cathy Ahrens.
Sam worked at CareGivers. He loved helping and caring for others. His greatest joy was being a devoted father and grandfather. He especially loved watching baseball and football. Sam never met a stranger who didn't become a friend, and he will be remembered for a smile as big as his heart.
To honor Sam's wishes, the family will hold a private gathering. Details will be shared once available.
