David Dobell Obituary
Elmira Heights, NY
Passed away on September 4, 2025 at the age of 72. He was born on August 31, 1953 in Elmira, New York to his late parents Donald W. Dobell and Margaret Wilson Dobell. He is also predeceased by his brother Terry Lee Dobell.
He is survived by his children Carrie and David Jr; sisters Yvonne (Robert) Granger and Janet (Richard) Lewis of Elmira Heights, NY and Cheryl (Patrick) White of Cayuta, NY and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
David was born in Elmira and was introduced to his lifelong automotive career at Dobell's Garage in Sullivanville, owned by his father and his grandfather Raymond. In high school he enrolled in automotive training at BOCES where his instructor encouraged him to apply at Sears & Robuck in Elmira which later moved to the Arnot Mall after the 1972 flood. After several years at Sears, he worked as an auto techician at Elm Chevy and later took a position at Goodyear in Elmira in the early 1990's where he became a certified Master Auto Technician. He then retired in 2012 with over 20 years of service. However, his greatest passion in life was bowling, primarily at Dixie Lanes in Elmira and Crystal Lanes in Corning.
The family welcomes your condolences at this time, a Celebration of Life at Dixie Lanes will be announced at a later date.

Dave was a regular customer at Gerow's, he was a kind, soft spoken man, 333 will always be remembered fondly by Donna , Tiffany , and all the Gerows family.
