Anna Swackhamer Obituary
Horseheads, New York
Passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at the age of 93. She was born in Elmira, New York on April 22, 1932 to the late George VanDusen and Minnie Chase VanDusen. She is pre-deceased by her parents; her late husband of 53 years, Jesse Swackhamer; son Jesse Swackhamer III; brothers George, Edwin, William and Robert VanDusen; and her beloved great-grandson Paxton Swackhamer.
She is survived by her children; James "Jim" (Julie) Swackhamer of Horseheads, NY and Jody Swackhamer of Elmira Heights, NY; three grandchildren, Justin (Jackie) Swackhamer of Aurora, CO, Tonya (Ricky) Hoyt of Horseheads, NY, and Tim Swackhamer of Elmira, NY; great-grandchildren Kensi and Mikko Swackhamer; and Gabby Graham, great-great grandchildren Harper and Cooper; sisters Barbara Trimmer and Joyce Wilcox, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Anna was the longtime crossing guard for Horseheads Central School District and a waitress at Sullivan's Diner in Horseheads, New York. She loved a good cup of coffee, baseball and hockey (specifically the Boston Red Sox and Buffalo Sabres) and was a very loving and devoted grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
The family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St, Horseheads, NY, on Rt. 13 on Friday March 6th, 2026 for calling hours from 11-12 with a service to follow. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband immediately following. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Anna's memory, please consider donating to the Morgan Adams Foundation.
