Samuel was born March 25, 1941 in Galveston Texas to Samuel Davis Kinsey, Jr. and Lillian Josephine Barnes Kinsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William Thomas Kinsey Sr Nephew William Thomas Kinsey II and great nephew D.J Bleimeyer. Survived by his wife Nancy Lee Inabnet Kinsey, nephew Samuel James Kinsey(Amber) their children Hannah Sprayberry, Laci Covarrubias-Cotton, Samantha Kinsey and two great great nieces and niece Maryanne Roeber(Kevin). Also on Nancy's side, Linda Grubbs and James Branson, Carol Greaney-Wurst (Fred), Beth Gordon (Robert) Donald Greaney (Shelley), Share Murphy (Tom), Dale Greaney (Mary),Glen Greaney (Julia),Gordon Greaney(Shelly) and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.
Sam was the oldest of three boys. He was a entrepreneur from a young age, His first business was reverse use of a vacuum to paint a car and received twelve dollars for his work. His next job consisted of delivering RX on his bicycle for a drug store, working as a runner for the advertising department of the Galveston Daily News. When times got hard he collected past due bills, also repaired billboards after Hurricane Carla, and after was a security guard for Danner Marine.
He enlisted the Army in 1963 and did his boot camp at Fort Polk, Louisiana. While in the Army he received his diploma and attended University of Hawaii. Once he finished basic he was stationed to Hawaii while there he also served a tour in Vietnam. After the Army he was hired by United States Steel in Waukegan, IL. While employed by USS he opened his own business AA Automotive in Illinois.
Later, being a civilian employee of D.O.D, he was a mechanic, paint and body man and gun smith. Opened his own business Clear Lake Auto Supply Inc, who then purchased Huntsville Auto Supply and machine shop Inc. After closing the parts store he opened Huntsville Engine Machine shop and finally retiring 2001 to do wood work until his health started to fail. He loved to travel, taught Sunday school for twenty years, charter member of Huntsville Optimist Club, and he was an Elk. His most successful achievement was his sixty fours year of marriage with his beautiful Wife. Mr. Kinsey lived a life filled with love, including his love for God and family and friends including summers with his nieces and nephews.
Sam passed away peacefully at home, with his wife by his side, on January 8th 2025.
He will be greatly missed by all.
