In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mag Blankenship, and brothers, Tommy Lambert, Jeff Lambert, Hursel Lambert Jr., Charles "Toot" Lambert, and Sidney "Sid" Lambert, as well as a host of nephews and a niece.
Sam was a retired coal miner who dedicated over 15 years to the industry and was a proud member of UMWA Local #1440. A man of the Pentecostal faith, Sam was known for his caring heart, quick smile, and love for his family and friends. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with those he loved and was a friend to all who knew him.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Sam is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Lambert of Red Jacket, WV; his son, Randy Lambert and his wife Angela of Kingwood, WV; and his daughter, Tammi Lambert of Matewan, WV. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, whom he adored, Caitlyn Lambert (Joe Johnson), Brayden Lambert, Izabella Simpkins, Jace "Bubba J" Stepp, Marissa Davis, and his great-granddaughter, Amara Johnson.
Sam is also survived by his sisters: Brenda Collins and her husband Dan of Buskirk, KY; Norma Jude and her husband Danny of Winchester, KY; Diana Dotson and her husband Harold of Decatur, TN; and Mildred Fields of Phelps, KY. A special family friend, Dwight Stepp, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends also survive him.
The family will gather with friends on Friday, May 23, 2025, in the Faith Mission Church In Jesus Name, ST HWY 1056, McCarr, KY 41544, from 6 to 10 p.m., with a special service beginning at 7:00 p.m., with Pastor Brian Wellman officiating.
Honoring services will be conducted on Saturday, May 24, 2025, beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jimmy Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Lambert Family Cemetery of Red Jacket, WV, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Sam's legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
