Samuel D. Morin

Saco

Samuel Donald Morin, 80, of Saco, Maine, passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Samuel was born on December 13, 1945, in Caribou, Maine, the eldest child of the late Samuel Joseph Morin and Irene Marie (Levesque) Morin. He was educated at Caribou High School and North Bergen High School in New Jersey. Following graduation, Sam proudly served in the United States Army as a cook and was stationed in Nürnberg, Germany.

After completing his military service, Sam pursued a long and respected career as a journeyman electrician. He worked for IBEW Local 567 for 37 years, earning the admiration of colleagues for his skill, work ethic, and dedication. His passion for teaching led him to instruct electrical courses at Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, where he took great pride in sharing his knowledge with others.

In retirement, Sam found joy in baking for family and friends, reading, caring for his beloved home, and, most of all, spending time with his family.

He was a cherished grandfather, family man, and friend whose presence brought warmth, wisdom, and kindness to all who knew him.

Sam is survived by his wife of 21 years, Pearl Morin (Guilbeault); his daughters Tracie Morin Phillips and her husband Christopher Phillips of Biddeford, and Kathryn Harbour (Morin) and her husband Matthew Harbour of Saco; and his grandchildren Hannah Morin-Roy (Drew Naismith) of Boston, Noah Morin-Roy (Cali Collard) of Westbrook, Grace Harbour (Jacob Laplume) and Eli Harbour of Saco, and Ciara Perry and Brock Perry of Biddeford.

He was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Mary Ann Morin (Gionfriddo); his parents; his brother Mark Morin; his stepson Shaun Perry; his cousin Doug McAfee; and his longtime best friend, Moe Bouchie.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Joseph's Church in Biddeford on Thursday, December 18, at 11:00 a.m. A Graveside Service will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco.
