Sandra Jean Alex

Sandra Jean Alex, age 77, of Skiatook went to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024, at her Skiatook residence.
The family will be receiving friends at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home on Saturday September 28th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday September 29th at the Vera Full Gospel Fellowship Church with Pastor Gwen Rowe officiating. A private family interment will be held on Monday September 30th at the Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow under the direction of the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
Sandy was born August 15, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to George and Imojean (Wescott) Hicks. Sandy grew up and received her education in Tulsa and completed her education in Owasso. Sandy married Harry Gus Alex on February 25, 1972, in Pittsburgh, Kansas making their home in Owasso until moving to Skiatook in 1998 where they continued to make their home. Sandy was a bus driver for Owasso Public Schools. Sandy was active in getting the Sports Complex started in Owasso. Sandy was a member of the Vera Full Gospel Church, volunteering at the church with vacation bible school, working on Thanksgiving baskets for families, Easter planning, and her most favorite was the Angel Tree making sure that the families in the area were able to have Christmas. Sandy also coached and played softball and helped grandchildren and great grandchildren with their homework.
Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, Imojean Knox, brother, Tommy Hicks and grandson, Joshua Gauger.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Harry of the home, children, Robin Roller, Rhonda Gauger, Angela Sellers and husband Travis, sister, Susie Surratt, fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The music for the services will be "Wipeout", "Over Comer", "Stairway to Heaven", and "She's A Lady". Praise and worship team will perform I Am Holding On" and "Way Maker".
Pallbearers are Adam Carrier, Jacob Carrier, Alex Hillyard, Isiaih Moser, Braden Moser, Travis Sellers, David Hillyard, and Jacob Wadley. Honorary pallbearers are Orlin Harrison and Phillip Patton.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Vera Full Gospel Church for the Angel Tree in honor of Sandy Alex.
