Sandra Kay Anderson

Sandra Kay Anderson of Norwalk, IA was born January 6, 1945, in Des Moines, IA daughter of Ralph and Helen (Welch) Swanson of Madrid. Sandy graduated from Madrid High School in 1963. Sandy was married to Keith Anderson and they were blessed with twin sons, Denny and Kenny. In 1988 Sandy moved to the south side of Des Moines where she met Barry LePorte and they developed a life long relationship. She enjoyed spending free time with her horses or gardening and always loved having a dog by her side. Sandy worked many years as a purchasing agent for several pharmacies in the Des Moines area. She dedicated much of her life to her church, New Life Lutheran Church in Norwalk, where she served as the Administrative Assistant. She was a cornerstone of the church, a faithful presence, and a friend to all. She was preceded in death by her parents. Sandy is survived by her significant other Barry LePorte and sons, Denny (Cindy) Anderson of Urbandale and Kenny (Christy) Anderson of Madrid, grandchildren, Parker, Allison, Taylor, Riley and Regan, and brother, Dave Swanson of Anchorage, AK.
Service will be Saturday, March 22, 2025 at New Life Lutheran Church, 4380 Wakonda Dr Norwalk, IA visitation at 10:00 a.m., Service at 11:00 a.m., meal to follow. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Sandy's name to Puppy Jake Foundation. puppyjakefoundation.org
