Sandra Behning Obituary
Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at the age of 81. She was born on August 21, 1942, beloved daughter of Joseph and Melania Cortese. Sandra married the true love of her life John Behning. They were married for 60 years and raised three children. Sandra liked sewing, camping and loved animals. She was a Brownie and 4H leader.
She worked in the healthcare field for over 25 years. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with family. She leaves behind her devoted husband John Behning, sister-in-law Shari Behning, daughters Jennifer (Christopher) Stemwell, Catherine (Adam) Stonitsch, son Matthew (Genine) Behning, grandchildren Andrew (Miranda) Stemwell, Rebecca Stemwell, Elizabeth Stemwell, and William Stemwell, brothers Bill (Sandy) Cortese and Steven (Heidi) Cortese. She was also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Melanie Cortese, daughters Pamela and Christine, sisters Patricia Wickert, and JoAnn Calhoun, brother John Cortese and brother-in-law Doug Behning.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 15250 W. National Ave. from 5-7PM with a Time of Sharing at 6:30pm.
