Sandy Binkley passed away peacefully in her home in the early morning on August 12 at the age of 80. Sandy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Capt. Don Binkley, her daughters Dr. Erin (David) Morris and Mrs. Jennifer (Aaron) White, and her most precious dog, Rocky. In addition, Sandy is survived by her sister Dr. Margaret LaMontagne and brother Mr. Arthur (Joyce) LaMontagne. Sandy also leaves behind her granddaughter Ms. Gracie Morris and grandsons Allister Morris, Kingston White and Max White as well as her step-grandchildren Mrs. Naomi (Todd) Raffensparger, Mr. David (Sam) White, Mrs. Mary (Bowen) Work, and Ms. Amanda White. Sandy leaves behind many nieces, cousins and a wealth of extended family members and friends. Sandy was preceded in death by her son Daniel Binkley and her sister Mrs. Susan Spillers.

Sandy grew up in Valdosta, GA as the oldest child of Betty and Art LaMontagne. As a teenager and adult, Sandy had a passion for tennis and spent several years playing for the Valdosta High School Tennis Team. In her later years, it was typical for Sandy to have lengthy telephone conversations with her sisters during Grand Slam tennis events to discuss matches, players, and the latest tennis fashion displayed on court.

Sandy was able to live the life she dreamed of enjoying. As the wife of an Air Force pilot, she traveled and lived in various cities across the United States and spent several years in Germany. The Binkley’s moved to Kaysville, UT in 1988 and after Don's retirement from the Air Force, settled in Fruit Heights.

An avid reader, Sandy acquired her dream job as a librarian at the Kaysville Library, where she worked for 20 years. She often talked about the joy of working with library patrons, especially when researching topics of interest for individuals.

Sandy had three beautiful children whom she adored. She was a huge support to them and often spent her lunch breaks taking her daughters to and from gymnastics, sacrificing her time, energy and resources to watch her girls pursue their passion. Sandy considered her "Mom" role as the best job she ever had until she became a "Grammie" to Gracie, Allister, Kingston and Max. Being a grandmother to all of her incredible grandchildren and step-grandchildren was a lifelong dream fulfilled for her.

Sandy was deeply loved by her family and friends, and her absence will be profoundly felt. She will be remembered for her kindness and for always offering up a warm hug and a compassionate listening ear. The warmth of her spirit and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Sandy will be laid to rest in the Lindquist Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch. Those wishing to send condolences may do so by visiting www.lindquistmortuary.com, Sandy’s family would like to invite anyone who wishes to honor her memory to spend some time doing her favorite things: hiking, playing tennis, or visiting their local library.
