Sandra Bowes Obituary
Sandy was born on January 17, 1941, the second oldest of ten children. Sandy was a lifelong resident of Wauconda, Illinois. She spent most of her life as a homemaker, taking great pride and joy caring for her home and her family. Even if she had a million things to do, she was not too busy to take time for others, and no one ever doubted that they were loved, cared for and accepted. She had a beautiful smile, and an infectious laugh and a heart of gold. Sandy was a very classy, special lady who will be terribly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William R. Bowes, her parents, Cleo and Shirley (nee Daley) Cook, and her beloved grandmother, Cora. She leaves behind three children, William, Kimberly (the late Charles), and Michael; six grandchildren, Stephanie (David) Barkemeyer, Jennifer Thoma, Paige Bowes, Michael Bowes, Kalie (Sid) Woods, and Amanda Bowes; four great grandchildren, Landon, Blake, Benjamin, and Eva; sister of Jack (Susan) Cook, Carol Lelito, Vickie Howard, Claudia (Gary) Skibbe, Kenneth (Margaret) Cook, Pamela (Roger) Thiede and the late Cleone Kern, Sheila Staub and Donna Crawmer.
Visitation will be Friday, February 16, 2024, from 10:30 am to time of funeral service at 11:30 am at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home 235 N. Main St., Wauconda, IL 60084. Interment will follow at Wauconda Cemetery
