Sandra Jean (Murphy) Bunker of Kingston passed away at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth on January 20, 2024, at the age of eighty-two. She was the wife of the late William Bunker. She was the loving mother of Gabriel "Gab" Izizarry and a loving foster mother to Keiya Allen, and Lorinda Strout. She leaves her cousin Susan Wells and her best friend of forty-eight years, Leslie Nunes.
Sandra was born on August 5, 1941, in Middleborough to the late John and Beatrice (Wells) Murphy. She was a huge pillar and asset to the community. She dedicated her life to giving back to the less fortunate and touching thousands of lives with her amazing work as a foster mother sheltering over 100 children. She was also a teacher at Sandi's Play and Learn at her home on East Ave. in Rocky Nook for hundreds more. She enjoyed bringing the kids to the park, traveling the world, and spending quality time with friends and family! Her charismatic fun and adventurous qualities will live through our hearts for years to come. She is a free spirit, a traveler, and a provider of a safe place.
Sandra was an inspiration to all and will always be remembered for the amazing work that she has put into the world.
The family welcomes visitors on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 PM at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court Street, Plymouth. A memorial service will begin at 4:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of life
for Sandi at the Knights of Columbus, Lower Hall, 91 South Street, Kingston, following the funeral home service. In lieu of flowers, Sandi asked for donations in her memory to be made to the South Shore Foster Closet, 9 Page Ave., Kingston, MA 02364.
May her Legend live on forever and may her soul rest in eternal peace.
