Sandra Burdette Obituary

Published by Cunningham, Parker & Johnson Funeral Home on May 14, 2014.
Sandra Kay "Sandy" Burdette 53 of Sissonville went home to be with the Lord May 14, 2014 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born June 10, 1960 to Charles Wolfe and Arbutus Wolfe Comer. Preceding her in death were her father Charles Wolfe and infant sister Kathy Lynn Wolfe. She leaves behind her mother Arbutus Wolfe Comer and Robert, of Tyler Mountain; her loving husband of 35 years Jeff Burdette; daughters, Cyndi Burdette and Russ Jarrell and Mindy Burdette Humphreys and husband Rodney; grandchildren, Dylan Burdette, Cory Humphreys, Hana Humphreys and soon to be born Peyton Burdette, all of Sissonville. She was a lifelong Christian and member of Grapevine Chapel, and loved singing with the church group. She was a witness to everyone she knew. Sandy was employed by Kanawha County School Board of Education, As a clerk at the Sissonville Bus Terminal and became the Terminal Supervisor at East Bank. She loved the ones she worked with and they all loved her. Some of her most enjoyed time was spent with the family on camping/boating trips at the lake. She also enjoyed making one of a kind baby blankets for babies of those she knew and loved. God looked around his garden And found an empty place. He looked down upon the earth, And saw your tired face. He put his arms around you, And lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful. He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering. He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never Get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough. And hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids, And whispered "Peace be thine." It broke our hearts to lose you. But you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you, The Day God called you home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Monday May 19, 2014 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Hank Burdette Cemetery, Grapevine, Sissonville. Visitation with the family will be from 3 to 6 PM Sunday May 18, at the Funeral Home.
