Sandra K. “Seaweed” Chafin, age 76, went to be with the Lord Saturday November 23, 2024. Born April 4, 1948, she was the daughter of the late James Robert Bowles, Sr. and Thelma Candler Bowles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Chafin; daughter: Jamie Chafin; brother-in-law, Eugene Chafin.
Sandy was a lifelong resident of Lebanon, Va. and a graduate of Lebanon High School. She worked for various companies in the area.
Sandy is survived by her sisters, Etta Morrison and husband Woody, Bakersfield, Ca. and Connie Grizzle and husband Jeff, Lebanon, Va.; brother, James Robert Bowles, Jr. and wife, Betty of Mechanicsville, Va.; sister-in-law, Glenna Kiser and husband Winston; brother-in-law, Carter Chafin and wife Sue and special friend, Judy Ray. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Monday, December 2, 2024, in the Combs-Hess Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel with the Rev. Robert Gragg and Rev. Tom Edwards officiating. The burial will be in the Chafin family cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
