Sandra graduated from Mary N. Smith High School in 1967. She was employed at Tyson Foods Inc. (formerly Holly Farms), where she retired after 41 years of employment in 2016.
While working, she met the love of her life, Milton Christian. After a four-year courtship, they were united in holy matrimony on October 6, 1984. For forty years, Sandra enjoyed the love, support, and devotion that Milton had to offer.
Sandra was a faithful member of Friendship United Methodist Church, now New Beginnings United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Harambe Choir and served as President of the Usher Board.
Known as "San" to many people, she loved to watch game shows and spend time with her family. San also loved the telephone. She would call people to inform them about movies to watch, provide encouragement, and ask the question, "Hoooowwwe y'all doing over there?" She also had a soft spot for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her son-in-laws.
Sandra was a kind person that made an impact on everybody she encountered. Her beautiful "infectious smile" would make you feel better or win you over to the point that people would side with Mrs. San and not her daughters. Everybody loved Mrs. San and Mrs. San loved everybody. Through LifeNet, her love allowed two lives to be saved by organ donation.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.
San leaves to cherish her legacy and memories: a devoted husband of 40 years, Milton Christian; four daughters, Felicia (Michael) Blake, LaShauna (Larry) Christian-Davis, Cyndia McGee, and Cynthia Christian; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; siblings, Bobby Barker, Robert (Claudeen) Harmon, Arthur Harmon, Helen Chandler, Jerlena Palmer, Eunice Harmon, and Hilda Harmon; brother-in-law, Sargent (JoAnne) Christian, III; sisters-in-law, Evelynn Sweatt and Leversa (Myron, Sr.) Harmon; one uncle, Rudolph Tull; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
